The Nizhny Novgorod Oblast plans to create a tourist cluster “Arzamas-Sarov-Diveyevo”, which will include the development of a transport and logistics network and the creation of a tourist accommodation centre.

      The Governor of Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Gleb Nikitin said that it was planned to invest about 2.5 billion roubles in the project at a meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin. “What about tourism, we are now developing the Arzamas-Sarov-Diveyevo cluster. These are Diveyevo and Sarov monasteries," Nikitin said. He stressed the fact that the board of trustees was working hard on restoration of these monasteries, but it concentrated mainly on attracting donations and developing the monasteries.

      “We would like to create a tourist cluster involving the development of a transport and logistics network, creation of a tourist accommodation centre in Arzamas, a multimodal railway and bus route that would carry tourists from Arzamas to Diveyevo”, as the Temporary Acting Governor said.
