Specialists of the Dataflow and Machine Learning Laboratory of the Novosibirsk State University and the Digital Field Technologies company have launched pre-project works to create software for optimization of oil and gas extraction based on artificial intelligence.
Five Russian oil companies are interested in the project, which involves the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and a number of private companies.
"The Digital Deposit project is based on the new principles of processing bulk data in the oil industry. Technologies for machine learning will be used for operational control of the drilling process with video identification of all significant objects. Besides, we are going to develop the software for the prediction of equipment failures,” - the head of the laboratory, Eugeny Pavlovsky said.
The laboratory will present the Digital Deposit project at the 6th International Forum of Technological Development “TechnoProm 2018”, which runs in Novosibirsk from August 27 to 30.
