Moscow authorities are developing the idea of creating an innovation and production cluster that will become a single space for cooperation between start-ups, investors and universities, as “Kommersant” reports. The idea of creating such a cluster was supported by the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the President of Russia.
Now there are 33 industrial parks, 39 industrial complexes, a special economic zone and 7 clusters – both operating and future ones - on the territory of Moscow. Moscow authorities believe that there are enough innovators in the capital, but it is necessary to improve communications between the sector's participants for a breakthrough. This will become the main goal of the new cluster with the basis of its project being the experience of the Beijing Zhongguancun Industrial Park: cooperation of enterprises, technology companies, investors and scientific institutions.
