The Amsterdam Court seized the shares of the “Blue Stream Pipeline Company” joint venture belonging to Gazprom. This is stated in the report of the Russian company for the first half of 2018. It specifies that the decision was made on May 30. Thus, the court satisfied the demands of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” which is seeking to charge more than $ 2.5 billion from Gazprom. On the same day, on May 30, Naftogaz first demanded the arrest of Russian assets for its own benefit.
“Gazprom” does not accept the decision of the international court and wants to fight the issue. The Stockholm arbitration concluded that the Russian side owed 2.56 billion dollars to the Ukrainian side; every day of delinquency will cost “Gazprom” half a million dollars. In early June Russia threatened Ukraine with gas problems due to the seizure of Gazprom's assets.
