The members of the royal Romanovs family were shot to death in the Ipatiev House in Yekaterinburg in July 1918.
For the 100th anniversary of this tragic event, the famous Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow presents unique photographs of the Romanovs. Some of these photos have never been displayed to general public before.

In the framework of the Moscow International Photobiennale, the Tretyakov Gallery on Krymsky Val is holding an exhibition of photo albums and individual photographs from the archive of the Romanov family.
Silver and gold framed albums were provided to the museum collection from the Gatchina and Alexandrovsky Palaces in the late 1920s - early 1930s and have not been exhibited previously. Among the displayed photographers there are famous masters of the epoch, such as Sergei Levitsky and Carl Bergamasco, as well as people from the inner circle of Nicholas II.
