Arkhip Kuindzhi Exhibition at the Tretyakov Gallery

More than 120 paintings by inimitable Arkhip Kuindzhi have been brought together from the collections of Russian museums.

The Engineering Building of the Tretyakov Gallery is displaying canvases of one of the brightest Russian painters of the XIX century, Arkhip Kuindzhi. The artist created a special type of romantic landscape, which combines realism with the author's vision of reality. He was in constant creative search, enthusiastically experimenting with coloring pigments, resorting to the latest discoveries in the field of chemistry.

Sketches by Arkhip Kuindzhi deserve particular attention at the exhibition. His craving for innovative solutions is most clearly seen in them.
