The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government for Social Policy Tatyana Golikova stated that unemployment benefit in Russia would sharply grow from January 1, 2019, according to the “Izvestia” newspaper. It is planned to raise the maximum benefit amount to 8 thousand roubles.
The minimum and maximum benefits are determined by the government annually, but the current figures - 850 roubles of the minimum benefit and 4.9 thousand of the maximum benefit - have not changed since 2009.
Besides, the government proposed to increase the minimum wage from next year, but the growth of this indicator will not be so sharp: now it makes up 11,163 roubles, it is suggested to raise it up to 11,280 roubles.
