What Worries Russians in 2018

 The increase in the prices of goods and services worries  72% of citizens – the figure is 16% greater than last year. This figure was higher only in 2014. The increase in prices is the most important problem for the majority of Russians. This conclusion was made by the “Romir” research holding which published the results of the all-Russian survey conducted in October.

      Young people (the age group from 18 to 24 years old chose this answer in 62% of cases), as well as the residents of cities with the population of up to 100 thousand people (64%) are more or less comfortable with the increase in prices.

      The group that is concerned about the increase in the cost of goods and services are the residents of big cities - 84% of this kind of respondents chose this answer.

      The problem of poverty and low incomes which ranked first in the rating last year, moved to second place - 62% of respondents chose it.

      The third, fourth and fifth positions are taken by corruption, unemployment and problems of housing and communal services. At the same time, corruption and unemployment reached the highest level of concern over the past 5 years - they received 43% and 42% of the votes, respectively. The problems in the sector of housing and communal services are topical for 31% of respondents, more often women (35%) than men (26%).
