Direction signs for the guests of the town of Ishim (Tyumen Oblast) have been installed within the frame of the project on the formation of tourist image of Tyumen Oblast. “In particular, the signs show the way to the cathedrals - Epiphany Cathedral and St. Nicholas Cathedral, as well as the Museum named after Pyotr Yershov”, as the spokesman for the press service of the Administration of Ishim told to Interfax-Ural on Friday. The signs indicate the distance to the object and its direction.

“The texts on the signs are duplicated in English for the convenience of foreign tourists”, as the agency’s source said. Earlier it was reported that navigation signs were installed in Tyumen and Tyumen Oblast in 2015 and in Tobolsk in 2016. Ishim was founded under the name of Korkina Sloboda in 1687. In accordance with the decree of Catherine II, in 1782 the settlement was renamed as the town of Ishimsky district of Tobolsk vicarate later renamed as Tobolsk province.
