The new version of the draft law on electronic employment records provides for almost instantaneous transition, according to the “Vedomosti” newspaper.
The publication got acquainted with the new version of the document developed by the Ministry of Labor. According to this document, beginning from 2020, any new entries on a person’s employment have to be entered in the employee’s employment record in an obligatory way, and from 2021 all new employees will be processed electronically.
The earlier version of the bill, also developed by the Ministry of Labor, proposed to introduce a transitional period from 2021 to 2027, during which the work experience could be calculated both in paper and in digital forms. In the course of the bill discussion, businesses opposed the long transition period; labor unions supported the first version.
