Tretyakov Gallery Presents Personal Exhibition of Ivan Nikolaev

The Tretyakov Gallery in Krymsky Val is holding the exhibition "Ivan Nikolaev", dedicated to the art of the famous Russian muralist.


      
Ivan Nikolaev is most famous for his artworks at the magnificent Moscow metro stations, such as Otradnoe, Borovitskaya, and Dostoevskaya.

      
Among the exhibits, there are mainly works of the 1970s-1980s; their main subjects are the city and its mythology, everyday traditions, and rituals, such as weddings and funerals. 

      
When working on his murals, Ivan Nikolaev tried various approaches, masterfully experimenting with volume, composition, and color.

When: from December 12, 2018, to February 24, 2019.

      
 

      
Open hours: from 10 am to 6 pm on Tue, Wed, and Sun, from 10 am to 9 pm on Thu, Fri, and Sat; Monday is a day off.

      
Where: the Tretyakov Gallery at the address 10, Krymsky Val Street, next to metro stations Krymsky Val, Oktyabrskaya, and Park Kultury, Moscow.
