85 Ice-holes and Fonts will be Organized in Moscow for Epiphany Bathing

Epiphany bathing in Moscow will be organized in 85 ice-holes and fonts.  During the epiphany bathing from January 18 to 19, 14 fonts and 71 ice-holes will be operating in the capital, located at 62 sites. It is expected that about 160 thousand Muscovites and guests of the city will take part in traditional bathing. The largest number of ice-holes - 20 - will be organized on the territory of the "new" Moscow.

At all sites, tents will be installed for the comfort of the swimmers and heat guns will be organized. Tea and hot meals will also be distributed in some places, as well as field kitchens will work at several sites.

Before the start of bathing, the bottom of the reservoirs will be examined by the staff of the Main Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations together with the Department of Civil Defense, Emergencies and Fire Safety.
