Eco-friendly Transportation Campaign

Green colored car signs are planned to be issued in Russia. The signs will be attached only to  electric vehicles  in order to emphasize their environmental friendliness, as one of the working group leaders of the national technology initiative (NTI) "Avtonet" Roman Malkin informs.

According to the “Avtonet” plan, this will be a new start to increase the popularity of eco-friendly transportation in Russia. It was initiated by the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation that are in charge to approve a new low on the first level before the final governmental approval. The original idea of green signs appeared during discussions on possible improvements in legislation and elimination of administrative barriers to the "green" transportation.

At the moment, there are already some benefits for electric vehicles  in Moscow: owners of those cars can use city parking lots for free. Moreover, electric vehicle drivers are exempt from transport tax payments in the Moscow region.
