Until November 1, 2019, visitors to the Tretyakov Gallery will see five paintings from the Nizhny Novgorod Art Museum among the works of the permanent exposition.
The canvases temporarily provided from Nizhny Novgorod to Moscow were created by famous Russian artists of the late 19th century. Visitors to the exhibition will see the panorama of Nizhny Novgorod painted by Alexei Bogolyubov, as well as “The Woman under an Umbrella” by Ivan Kramskoy and “The Beaches of Dalmatia” by Ivan Aivazovsky.
Two canvases by Ivan Shishkin – deeply lyrical landscapes "The Kama near Elabuga" and "A Foggy Morning” – have arrived from the collection of the Nizhny Novgorod Museum. They have taken a rightful place next to his “Morning in a Pine Forest”, which is part of the permanent exhibition of the Tretyakov Gallery.
