The Number of Companies Set Up in Russia in 2018 Fell by Almost 20%

According to the Federal Tax Service (FTS),  316.9 thousand companies were established in Russia in 2018; compared to the results of 2017, the figure fell by 18.9%.

      At the same time, the percentage of companies that have ceased operations is growing.

      Thus, in 2018, more companies were liquidated than in 2017 by 9.1%,  73.9 thousand enterprises in total. The number of bankrupt enterprises increased by 4.2%: in 2018, 9.8 thousand companies stopped operating due to bankruptcy.

      Also, 549.6 thousand enterprises were excluded from the state register by the decision of the Federal Tax Service - 4.8% more than in 2017.
