The carrier undertakes domestic and international transport in 28 countries, including Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Sweden, Poland and the United States. Buses are operated by partners under the FlixBus brand, while the company itself plans route networks, determines pricing policies, and sells tickets online and through its own ticket offices.

The company’s entry into the Russian market is scheduled for February 21. On the launched website flixbus.ru, it’s not possible to book a trip around Russia. Now the service is negotiating with carriers and road associations and recruiting staff to the Moscow office. FlixBus offers carriers a contract for at least a year and a half and claims 30% of the proceeds from tickets sold through the service. The carrier itself is ready to sell at least 50% of the bus seats. In addition, the company plans to engage in driver training, as well as branding and technical equipment of buses.
At the same time, previously a number of large Russian companies have already refused to cooperate with FlixBus because of a controversial model, which could lead to monopolization of the market and the cessation of work of other carriers. Market participants believe that the European model of FlixBus in Russia should be transformed. Most likely, the carrier will have to offer an original local solution.
