The cable car across the Volga is planned to be built in Astrakhan to attract tourists, the city administration reports.
At the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, the head of the Astrakhan administration, Radik Kharisov, and the general director of National Rope Roads, Boris Shlom, signed an agreement that involves the construction of a cable car in the regional center connecting two districts: Kirovsky and Trusovsky.
The authorities expect that the air bridge will also become a new tourist site, which will attract both residents of Astrakhan and guests of the regional center. It is assumed that the landing stations will be located in the area of the seventeenth pier and in the central part of Trusovo.
The length of the cable car will be more than 2 km. The project itself can be a good alternative to existing public transport routes that pass along two bridges across the Volga, the press service reports.
According to the administration of Astrakhan, National Rope Roads LLC has already implemented similar projects. One of them is the road in Nizhny Novgorod, which also connects the Volga shores. In total, the company has built and put into operation more than 40 utility infrastructure objects.
