The authorities of Ingushetia plan to create an open reserve in the mountainous Dzheirakhsky region to attract Russian and foreign tourists. Wild animals, including bison and yaks, live in these places. The Ingush leader is confident that the revival of protected areas in the mountainous part of the republic will significantly increase the number of foreign and Russian tourists.
As reported, at the end of August 2018, in Ingushetia, 20 wild yaks were released in their natural habitat in a mountainous region as part of an environmental holiday - the Day of the Sunzha River. Animals were brought from Kabardino-Balkaria especially for the ecological holiday. The yaks will live in the hunting grounds of the Dzheirakhsky district. According to the ministry, in the near future, 200 yaks will be brought to Ingushetia. The livestock should increase to 3 thousand individuals.
According to the press service of the head of Ingushetia, over the past 6 years, the tourist flow to the republic has increased more than 12 times - to 132.5 thousand people.
