The online grocery delivery market grew by 50%, reaching a volume of 23 billion rubles in 2018, Kommersant reports, citing a study of Russia Top Online Food Retail. We are talking about the delivery of products by retailers themselves and delivery services.
The main cities for the market were and remain Moscow and St. Petersburg, while the service itself is available only in eight regions of the country: in addition to the capitals, it is possible to order home products in Belgorod, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg and Surgut.
The leader in the segment is the Utkonos company, which has been operating since 2002: its turnover is 10.2 billion rubles. The second place with a turnover of 3 billion rubles is occupied by Ozon company - its performance for the year increased more than twice. O'Key's figures rose from 1.3 billion to 1.7 billion rubles, and Auchan’s from 0.7 to 1.5 billion rubles.
