The yard of the Moscow Museum will be a full-fledged exhibition space until mid-April, 2019. It is
hosting an exposition of photographs showing the views of Moscow in the 19th and 21st centuries.
Lots of those photos were taken upon the order of businessman N. Naidenov back in the 1880s. The banker was a connoisseur of the history of Moscow, and therefore decided to capture the image of this city for the posterity. Reproductions from his photo albums eventually gained incredible popularity.
Within the framework of the exhibition, the photographs from Naidenov’s collections are supplemented with modern pictures. Their authors tried to take shots of the same points in order to show how Moscow was transformed. For clarity, the pictures are displayed in pairs. For each of them, historians have prepared comments describing that place and its history.
