Air Communications with the Solovetsky Islands will be Limited

Air communications with the Solovetsky Islands will be limited from June to December. The airport of the Solovetsky Islands in Arkhangelsk Oblast will not receive aircrafts from June 15 to mid-December due to the renovation of the runway, which will create problems for more than five hundred tourists.

As it is noted, the only possible air vehicle during the period of renovation works will be the Mi-8T helicopter. In connection with the change of the type of aircraft, an increase in the cost of air travel is expected. Air connection with the Solovetsky Islands is carried out from Arkhangelsk. One can reach the archipelago from the Karelian cities of Kem and Belomorsk by sea transport.
