The first Russian female sculptor, Anna Golubkina was one of the leading masters of the Silver Age.
An adherer of impressionism, she paid special attention to the texture of selected materials and created very lively, dynamic figures. It did not matter for the master what to work with - be it stone or wood, the quality of her sculptures did not depend on it.
The Tretyakov Gallery is going to display the masterpieces of Anna Golubkina again. The event recalls the exhibition of her works back in the winter of 1914-1915. That time, the event revenue was donated for the treatment of and assistance to the wounded.
