Kaliningrad region topped the rating of regions with the greatest involvement of the population in small business. About 24.9 % of the population of the region is engaged in small business.
The top three also included the Novosibirsk Region (24.1%) and St. Petersburg (23.4%). In three more regions, the employment rate exceeded 20% - in Moscow (23.1%), the Khabarovsk Territory (21.8%) and the Nizhny Novgorod Region (21.2%). In 18 more regions, the share of employment is higher than the average Russian indicator, which is fixed at the level of 15.5%. Among them are Tatarstan (18.2%), Ryazan Region (17.4%) and Primorsky Krai (16%).
The smallest participation of the population in small business is observed in the regions of the North Caucasus and the Far Eastern Federal District. The last place in the list is taken by Ingushetia, where only 1.6% of the population is engaged in small business. It is followed by Tyva (3.2%) and Chechnya (4%). In 11 regions, the level of employment in small business varies between 5% and 10%, among them - Buryatia (7.7%), Kalmykia (6%), North Ossetia (6.4%) and others.
