The Head of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Maksim Oreshkin, told the reporters about his plans to launch a system for issuing electronic visas to foreign tourists from the beginning of 2020. He reminded that the key destinations of foreign tourism were Moscow and St. Petersburg where the infrastructure is “already well-done”. “Our main task here is to reduce the obstacles standing in the way of the foreign tourists who want to visit the country. We are actively discussing the issue of electronic visas, working it through with regional authorities and security agencies,  which is important, because any changes entail certain security risks, so they need to be elaborated very thoroughly”, the Minister said. He noted that Russia has a very positive experience of holding the World Cup, when a large number of tourists came to the country”.
