The number of individual entrepreneurs in Russia has exceeded the number of companies for the first time, as RBC reports. According to the “State Register”, including information of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities and Unified State Register of Individual Entrepreneurs, 4.014 million individual entrepreneurs and 3.98 million legal entities are operating in Russia as of April 2.
During the entire period of analysis of state registers, the number of operating companies has always been higher than the number of individual entrepreneurs; however, since 2016 the number of companies has decreased. In reality, the number of individual entrepreneurs is actually larger than that of operating organizations. The Federal Tax Service has not yet published its data for April, but according to the statistics of the department for March, the number of individual entrepreneurs and companies almost equaled: 3.98 million versus 4 million.
