The art and music festival dedicated to the 220th anniversary since the birth of great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin has kicked off in New York.
Until June 24, artists, musicians and actors will present their artworks in this or that way related to the great poet.
“Pushkin Society in America was founded specifically for Russian-speaking immigrants to get an opportunity of adequately, vividly and widely celebrating all the memorable dates associated with Alexander Pushkin,” - the event organizer Victoria Kurchenko, the President of the Pushkin Society of America, pointed out.
The festival was opened with a concert by musician Alexander Riza.
May 30 will see the opening of the exhibition “In Search of Illusion” with works of about 20 artists displayed.
One of the main festival events is scheduled for June 7th. Poetess Vera Pavlova along with her daughter will present the musical play “Dedication to Pushkin”.
