It is likely that the issuance of electronic visas to foreign tourists arriving in Moscow and St. Petersburg will begin in 2020, as Nana Gvichiya, Deputy Chairperson of the City Tourism Development Committee said.

“Moscow, St. Petersburg and Sevastopol are considered cities of federal importance and are regarded as pilot cities until the law enters into force in 2021, when there will be electronic visas everywhere. We hope that Moscow and St. Petersburg will be able to take advantage of this opportunity next year”, as Gvichiya said.

She also noted that it is planned to increase the number of information centres and tourist outlets in St. Petersburg. It is planned that information centres at Pulkovo and at the Moskovsky railway station will work around the clock.
