A data centre with its capacity comparable to the entire domestic market may appear near Moscow. The project under the working title “Istradigital” involves the construction of a technopark with a data centre several dozen kilometers away from Moscow, along Novorizhskoye Highway.
It is assumed that the project will occupy an area of 620 thousand square meters. The data centre will accommodate 40 thousand server racks; it is proposed to build the centre in stages – it is planned to launch the first stage, about 10 thousand racks, before the end of 2021. The next stages will be launched in the years 2022-2024. 75% of the capacity will be occupied by cloud services, the rest will be given to the placement of customer equipment.
As the project initiator, developer Vladimir Mazur, noted, the data centre is only a part of the project; it is also planned to create an educational centre, research laboratories, etc.
