For the first time the Russian cinema is demonstrated in Singapore on such a large scale.

      The festival of the Russian cinema was organized by the nationwide program "In the family circle".

      The festival features five films that have seen been released over the past three years.

      Pavel Chukhrai's “Cold Tango”, “Soldier” and “The Last Knight” are among them. The comedy “I'm Losing Weight” will be presented to the public by screenwriter Konstantin Meier. The film of the festival opening was another comedy, “Once upon a Time”.

      The organizers confessed that when selecting the films for the festival they doubted if those would interest the public in Singapore. However, not a single vacant seat was left on the shows.

      The organizers expressed the hope that such film festivals would become a tradition and be held at least once a year.
