The XIII Andrei Tarkovsky International Film Festival “Mirror” is held in the birthplace of the renowned film director Andrei Tarkovsky now.
The festival traditionally takes place in Ivanovo, Yuryevets and other towns of the Ivanovo Region. The competition program includes nine films that became winners and participants of the world’s leading film festivals.
These are films from Spain, Argentina, Israel, the Balkan and Scandinavian countries, as well as the CIS countries.
According to the program director of The Mirror festival, well-known film critic Andrei Plakhov, the competition list includes works mostly by young film directors looking for their personal language and style.
The festival opening ceremony took place in the central square of Yuryevets, the town where Andrei Tarkovsky spent his childhood. There is a house-museum of the legendary film director here.
