Unique monuments of Russian icon painting from the collection of Victor Bondarenko are displayed at the Andrei Rublev Museum of Old Russian Culture and Art.Victor Bondarenko is a famous icon collector. Over the past two years, the number of exhibits in his collection has increased markedly. At the same time, they are almost unknown to the general public.
Now the Andrei Rublev Museum is bridging this gap.
The current exposition “Stairway to Heaven” includes icons created on the eve of the reforms of Peter the Great, in the late Middle Ages and in the new era up to the early the 20th century.
