The contribution of tourism to Russia’s GDP can double in 2025, and Moscow can enter the top ten of the most successful cities in the world in terms of growth of tourist traffic, according to the report by the BCG consulting company titled “A Nice Running Competition: Moscow on the World Tourism Map”.

      This will be possible if the authorities take measures to promote the city on the target markets, increase its accessibility for tourists and improve the quality of service. As BCG notes, simplification of the visa regime will contribute to the development of tourism in Russia, this will result in an increase in tourist flow by 40%.The experts of the company expressed the need for development of the brand of Moscow, air transportation (including low-cost transportation), transport and public infrastructure, room capacity and information support; it is necessary to reconstruct sights and create new places of interest.
