The 21st Open Look Festival of Contemporary Dance will take place on the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater from August 13 to 17, 2019.
It is bringing together a dozen troupes from Europe and Asia, with the latter being a priority. It is going to be the most high-tech festival in its history.
Three dance companies from Korea, as well as troupes from Finland, Germany, Japan, Switzerland, France, and Israel, will take part in the Open Look festival.
Its program is full of high-tech productions: these are 3D and VR projects, as well as Pierre Giner’s multimedia “planetary dances”, which will be shown in Planetarium No. 1 on the final day of the festival.
Documentary choreography as one of the most vivid new trends will be paid special attention to.
Ksenia Mikheyeva will present young Russian choreographers with a new Chekhovian performance at Sevkabel Port.
