The “Secrets of Medieval Masters” International Blacksmith Festival was held in Ryazan. This year the festival was held within the frame of the International Forum of Ancient Cities.

      The craftsmen from all over Russia and foreign countries  demonstrated various techniques of the rare craft on the territory of Ryazan Oblast, forming the right ideas about smithcraft and the level of metal art development in our country and around the world.

      The audience was especially interested in the workshop on restoration of iron from meadow ore, forging of Belev knives, as well as the initial stages of creation of Japanese swords. A forum of blacksmiths is held in Ryazan Oblast every two years.
