The largest aeronautics festival in Russia will be held in the Stavropol Territory. “The Caucasian Mineral Waters - Pearl of Russia 2019” hot air balloon festival, including the V Cup of air biathlon, will open in Essentuki on Saturday, the press service of the resort city administration reports.

      The air show   takes place for the 21st time. It  became the longest aeronautic event in Russia and lasts for a week. 15 crews from Feodosia, Krasnodar, Essentuki, Stavropol, Novosibirsk, Velikiye Luki, Moscow, Kursk, Ryazan, Zhukovsky, Kaluga will take part   in the festival. In addition to flying over the resort towns and natural monuments, pilots will compete in the ability to control balloons. Flights will be held during the week from September 8 to 14, from 6:00 to 11:00 and from 17:00 to 18:30.

      During the festival, air biathlon competitions will be held.

      The festival has become a brand of Stavropol. Many tourists plan their holidays in the resort region during its days.

      In addition, the festival is considered one of the oldest and most popular aviation events in Eastern Europe.
