The RF State Expert Evaluation Department approved the project for the construction of an underground archaeological museum on the territory of the Moscow Kremlin.
The museum complex will be created on the basis of the remains of the foundation of the Cathedral of the Miracle of Archangel Michael discovered under the Building 14 of the Kremlin. The total area of the complex will exceed 1.5 thousand square meters. The floor in the main hall of the museum, above the excavation site, will be transparent.
Glass will also be used to make display cases and stands for sarcophagi. The entrance pavilion to the museum with landscaping of ornamental plants will be included into the piled hill above the basement being equipped. The museum's exposition will consist of genuine archaeological excavation sites, objects found during archaeological research, preserved fragments of the Cathedral of Chudov Monastery and multimedia installations.
