The 5G pilot network of MTS within the bands of 28 gigahertz and 4.9 gigahertz was launched at the All-Russian Exhibition of Economic Achievements, near the “Smart City” pavilion.

      Besides, on this territory MTS plans to open a 5G laboratory for startups developing products on the basis of the fifth generation network in a number of fields, including in cloud rendering, remote game play, new format streaming (Ultra HD, VR/AR, 360˚), IoT and new formats for data computing and storing. The company noted that the MTS pilot zone is primarily aimed at test solutions for the smart city, including those related to improving security, developing the transport system and management systems for city services.
