In the first six months of 2019, the number of venture capital transactions in Russia decreased by 35% compared to the same period last year, according to a study by Inc.Russia. Authors of the publication analyzed all public transactions with Russian startups carried out during this period.
By the amount of investments, the largest investments were made by corporate funds - during six months they invested 1.8 billion rubles in 13 transactions. Moreover, last year the figure was three times higher - the amount was 5.5 billion rubles. Second place, in terms of money volumes, is taken by private funds (1.085 billion rubles), while the third – by state funds (1.065 billion).
Accelerators are the leaders in the number of transactions, having invested in 34 startups over half a year. Most of the deals were made by Starta Accelerator, the Internet Initiatives Development Fund (IIDF), the accelerator of Sberbank and Pulsar Venture Capital.
