 Exhibition to the 175th Anniversary of Ilya Repin in Russian Museum

“Barge Haulers on the Volga”, “Sadko”, “Cossacks Writing a Letter to the Turkish Sultan” - at the grand exhibition of the State Russian Museum you can see both canonical and little-known artworks by Ilya Repin.

      On the occasion of the 175th anniversary since the birth of Ilya Repin, the State Russian Museum, Saint Petersburg, presents a large-scale exhibition illustrating different periods of the outstanding artist’s creativity which is associated with the flourishing of realism in Russian art.

      The exposition includes more than 250 paintings and drawings from museums and private collections. Visitors will see the paintings "Sadko", "Barge Haulers on the Volga", "Cossacks Writing a Letter to the Turkish Sultan", "Tsarevna Sofya Alekseevna a Year after her Imprisonment in the Novodevichy Convent", as well as wonderful portraits, sketches and much more.

      When: from October 4, 2019 to March 9, 2020.

      Where: Benoit Building of the Russian Museum at the address 2, Griboedov Canal Embankment, next to Gostiny Dvor and  Nevsky Prospect metro stations, Saint Petersburg.
