The oratorio dedicated to the great Russian icon painter Andrei Rublev will be performed for the first time in Russia. Its author, Italian composer Marco Frisina, is going to conduct the premiere himself.
The world premiere of the oratorio Servitore della bellezza (“The Lord of Beauty”) took place in the winter of 2019 in the Vatican.
The plot is based on the legend about Daniel Chorny meeting his teacher Andrei Rublev. For the Russian premiere, the oratorio was translated into Russian, with the music and storyline kept intact.
The composition will be performed by the Moscow Synodal Choir, the Youth Synodal Choir and the Voce Anima Orchestra in the Zaryadye Concert Hall, a venue with unique acoustics. The premiere will take place under the conductorship of the composer Marco Frisin himself. The oratorio is performed within the framework of the international project “The Lord of Beauty” with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.
