Moscow won the World Travel Awards in the nomination "The best tourist destination. City", according to the official portal of the mayor of the capital.
The results of the prestigious award, which is considered a tourist "Oscar", were announced on November 28 in the city of Muscat (Oman).
In addition, the Russian capital was presented in the nominations “The Best Destination for Festival and Event Tourism” (World’s Leading Festival & Event Destination) and “The Best Destination for Sports Tourism” (World’s Leading Sports Tourism Destination).
Among the winners was also the Russian airline Aeroflot - in the nominations "Best Aviation Brand" and "Best Business Class". St. Petersburg was recognized as the best city for cultural tourism, and the City Space bar located on the 34th floor of the Swissotel Krasnye Holmy hotel is considered the best rooftop bar.
In 2020, the grand finals of the World Travel Awards will be held for the first time in Moscow.
