About 16 thousand foreign tourists visited St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Oblast through electronic visas in the first month following their introduction.
St. Petersburg and Leningrad Oblast have been visited by about 16 thousand tourists during the first month after the introduction of electronic visas. The citizens of 50 countries have submitted more than 29 thousand applications for an electronic visa. Among them, the largest number of visas was issued to the citizens of Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Germany and France. Beginning from October 1, citizens of 53 foreign countries, including all EU countries, can visit St. Petersburg and Oblast Region by applying for electronic visas. According to the committee, only citizens of three countries - Andorra, the Vatican and Democratic People's Republic of Korea - did not apply for these visas.
