Ryazan "Trading Town" was opened on October 27, 1955 as a regional VDNKh. The exhibition pavilions were arranged in 3 rows: the first row was allocated to demonstrate the achievements of agriculture (they presented the products of collective farms and state farms of the Ryazan region), the second was given to industrial enterprises with large-sized products of the Ryazselmash plant in the form of various agricultural machines and units, the third is dedicated to construction, which was intensively developed in the region. In 1959, the regional authorities decided to redesign the facility, turning the pavilions into shops. The territory was landscaped with picturesque alleys and fountains, and quickly became one of the favorite vacation spots of locals and tourists.
