International Tango Day will be Celebrated on December 11 at VDNKh

Dance shows and workshops will be held at three venues of VDNKh on December 11 as part of International Tango Day.

December 11th will mark International Tango Day at VDNKh. Dances, master classes, quizzes and dance shows await guests at the main exhibition of the country. The celebration will take place at three venues at once - at the VDNKh skating rink, in pavilion No. 34 "Cosmos" and in the House of Culture.

From 18:00 to 20:00 near the fountain "Friendship of Peoples" a dance show "Tango on Ice" will be held. A five-minute performance “Ballet Tango” from the artists of the Kremlin Ballet Theater will be held in Pavilion No. 34 Cosmos. Three pairs of professional dancers   will tell about the history of tango at 19:00 and at 20:00.

Tango appeared in the 1880s on the border of Argentina and Uruguay. The dance gained its popularity in the 1930-1950s. On December 11, 1977, Argentina celebrated Tango Day for the first time, marking the anniversary of the birth of the performer Carlos Gardel and the 78th birthday of composer Julio De Caro.
