3920 infrastructure winter facilities will operate in Moscow during the winter season of 2019-2020.
In recent years, the popularity of winter recreation has grown more than five times. It is expected that they will be visited by at least 50 million people during the season of 2019-2020. The Mayor’s Office specified that 1418 skating rinks with artificial and natural ice, 388 ski runs with a total length of more than 600 km, 283 ice slides and snow towns, 1709 universal winter sports grounds, 59 ski centres, sleigh rides, places for tubing, dog sledding, snowmobiling and snowboarding will operate in the city. 63 places for winter swimming will also be opened in Moscow.
The Mayor’s Office reminded that the “Travel to Christmas” festival lasting from December 13, 2019 to January 12, 2020, will become the main traditional winter festival in Moscow. 40 festival venues will open throughout the city; about 330 Christmas trees of various sizes will be installed on these.
