Russia has climbed one position and took the 23rd place in the ranking of the best countries in the world according to the influential American US News & World Report Magazine.
When compiling the ranking, they paid attention to such parameters as influence on the world stage, popularity among tourists, historical and cultural heritage, attitude towards citizens (respect for rights and concern for the environment), business development and others. The ranking-2020 has been topped by Switzerland, Canada and Japan.
The top 10 also includes Germany, Australia, the United Kingdom, the USA, Sweden, the Netherlands and Norway. Russia took the 23rd position, between the UAE and Portugal: this is one point higher than a year earlier. The Russian Federation is ahead of Eastern Europe, Ukraine (68th position) and Belarus (70th position) in the ranking.
