Improvement works in the Emmanuelevsky Park of Pyatigorsk have started; they will be completed this year. Since the park is located in the first zone of mountain and sanitary protection, the most part of the work is done manually, only in some cases builders use small vehicles – rubber-treated crawler-mounted machines that will do no harm to the ground.
The green spaces of the park will be fully preserved. Only dead wood will be removed; besides, young seedlings will be planted instead of old trees. Within the frame of landscaping works, the covering of the trails near the rotunda will be restored, the masonry of retaining walls will be repaired, terraces will be put in order, lanterns, benches and urns will be installed, park sculptures and a monument to General Georgi Emmanuel will be erected.
Emmanuelevsky Park is one of the oldest resort parks in Pyatigorsk. It was built in the classical English style from 1828 to 1830, according to the project by the architect Giuseppe Bernardazzi.
