The share of e-books in Russia exceeded 10% of the entire segment.

At the end of 2019, the sales of electronic and audio books in Russia amounted to 6.5 billion roubles in monetary terms, demonstrating a 35 percent increase.

About 1.5 billion roubles of these account for audio books. In general, the share of the segment of audio and electronic books exceeded 10% of the entire publishing market (without notice of textbooks). Experts believe that the sales of e-books could grow even faster, but piracy still is a limiting factor. They note that the growth driver was the self-publishing segment: its revenue grew by 218% right away.
