French Tour of the Bolshoi Theater Canceled due to Coronavirus

The tour of the State Academic Bolshoi Theater of Russia scheduled in France from March 10 to 15, will not take place in connection with the order of the French authorities to cancel mass events designed for over 1 thousand participants. This was announced by the General Director of the Bolshoi Theater Vladimir Urin on Monday.

"Our French partners phoned us and informed that the Paris Philharmonic, where the Bolshoi theater artists were planning to perform, is closing because its hall seats 2.4 thousand people," - Mr. Urin said.

Earlier, he reported to mass media that the tour in France would take place, despite the threat of coronavirus spreading. The program of the Bolshoi Theater was adjusted taking into account the fact that after returning to Russia the tour participants would have to be safely isolated at home for 14 days.
