Mariinsky Theatre Showed Ballet Push Comes to Shove at Golden Mask Fest

This work by Twyla Tharp from the USA is the Golden Mask Award nominee for the best ballet performance of the past season. 

       The premiere of this ballet at the Mariinsky Theater was held on March 21, 2019.

      The Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater showed the Push Comes to Shove ballet on the Historical Stage on Monday, March 9, 2020.

      Push Comes to Shove ballet, nominated for the Golden Mask Award in two categories, was presented on the Historical Stage of the Mariinsky Theater on March 9 as the best ballet performance for the 2018/19 season and for the best male role. The lead Philipp Stepin claims for it. This time the ballet is the only work of the Mariinsky Theater of the past season, which made it to the list of the participants of the Golden Mask festival.

      Push Comes to Shove premiered at the Mariinsky Theater on March 21, 2019 at the opening of the 18th Mariinsky International Ballet Festival. Its world premiere took place back in 1976, when Mikhail Baryshnikov performed the main role.
